Ofcom, the communications regulator in the UK, has appointed Carter Jonas to deliver estate consultancy services across its UK portfolio for up to five years.

The contract has been awarded under the Crown Commercial Services framework agreement for Estate Management Services (RM6168).

Ofcom has a property portfolio that includes eight offices across the UK, comprising 131,034 sq ft of space. It sought a partner to deliver comprehensive estate management solutions, including for its headquarters at Riverside House on the South Bank in Southwark, London.

Following a competitive tender process, Carter Jonas has secured a three-year mandate with the regulator, with a potential extension of up to two 12-month periods. The team at Carter Jonas will offer core property management services, and landlord and tenant matters, including rent reviews and lease renewals, acquisitions, disposals, rating and building surveying advice.

Iain Mulvey, business development director, Carter Jonas, said: “As Ofcom’s remit evolves and expands, it is committed to further developing a property strategy that supports effective service delivery across every area of its business. Recognising these objectives, we look forward to working with the Ofcom team to provide an effective approach to the management of the portfolio that assists its professional functions and capabilities as it delivers against its responsibilities.

Leveraging its national reach, multi-disciplinary network of professionals, local market insight and specialist discipline experience, Carter Jonas will ensure Ofcom and its people are well-placed to meet the current and future needs of its business.

Jason Cinamon, Head of Property & Facilities Management, Ofcom, said:
We are delighted to partner with Carter Jonas who will bolster our ability to provide outstanding working environments for colleagues across the Nations and Regions. Our Property and Facilities Management remit remains central to helping Ofcom deliver on its primary objective; Making communications work for everyone.”
