Legislation compliance

  • Advice on every aspect of statutory legislation relating to property.  We undertake inspections and prepare management plans for fire, access and other building related health and safety matters. 
  • Fire safety and workplace health and safety.  We offer a specialist service of providing fire safety advice and undertaking structural fire safety audits.  This is with particular regard to the Fire Prevention (Workplace) Regulations where employers have to take on responsibility for putting their own in place.
  • Asbestos legislation, occupier's liabilities and management procedures.  We can advise on the procedures in order to comply with the legislation, providing a list of specialist consultants who can carry out the inspections in order to prepare an asbestos register. 
  • Disability Discrimination Act.  In the light of the Disability Discrimination Act we offer specialist advice to clients requiring support in providing the appropriate access and facilities in and around their buildings preparing audits, advising on the alterations and designing and organising the works.
  • Construction, Design and Management Regulations (CDM).  Certain building projects fall under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 1994 whereby a Client has specific legal obligations.  We advise on the application of the regulations and act as Planning Supervisor under the Regulations.
  • Party Wall and boundary matters.  The Party Wall etc Act 1996 requires notice to be served on adjoining owners for such things as work to a party wall (repair, rebuilding, damp-proofing, cutting in beam bearings etc) or excavations near to adjoining buildings.  We advise on the need to serve notice and act as Party Wall Surveyor in serving notices and agreeing matters with adjoining owners.
