The twin forces of economic instability and poor weather have combined to put further pressure on many farm incomes and, while agriculture is expected to remain profitable this year, the challenges of price spikes in animal feed costs and fuel are very real. To balance this, albeit in the longer-term, farm output will be supported by the growing global population’s demand for food.
