Development Consultancy
OUR RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT SERVICE
OUR COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT SERVICE
The key to delivering a successful project is an accurate assessment of risk and reward, the vision to see the potential and the drive to overcome the challenges. Our development consultants have a wide range of expertise, and are highly-experienced in delivering development projects and maximising value for landowners and developers alike, both in the public and private sectors. Many of them have worked as developers in their own right before joining the Carter Jonas team, which gives them a unique insight when advising clients seeking to buy, or sell, land or buildings with development potential.
For clients with residential opportunities, Carter Jonas has the expertise and experience to bring these to fruition, whether they comprise a plot for a single dwelling, a barn for conversion, a conversion from offices to residential, or land with the potential for 12,000+ dwellings. Work may start at the earliest stage of the planning process in influencing the local authority plans, which govern the location and nature of development in an area – something which is key now that the National Planning Policy Framework, with its emphasis on Localism, is in place. Carter Jonas’ development team has huge experience of stakeholder engagement, which is so fundamental to the success of development promotion – or the work may simply involve the sale of an opportunity which already has consent and the national agency teams can ensure that values are maximised for asset owners.
Commercial developments can take many forms – a science park in Cambridge or Luton, a logistics hub in Nottingham or Leeds, a chain of hotels in East Anglia, a shopping centre in Newbury, a mixed use scheme in London, an office development in Oxford. With its locally based teams, Carter Jonas can give clients best in class advice to maximise values, structure the most efficacious joint venture arrangements and overcome the challenges. Acting for land and building owners, occupiers for whom property is not a core business, public sector bodies that do not have the expertise in house, developers seeking opportunities, Carter Jonas development consultancy team can add value and deliver results across a very wide range of projects.
