Steven is a Partner, head of the firm's Planning Division and Sutton Griffin's Planning Director. He has over 30 years experience advising private and public sector clients about how best to realise the development potential of their property assets. As a chartered surveyor and chartered town planner he is able to provide commercially astute planning and development advice that adds significant value to projects ranging from mixed use redevelopment schemes to strategic greenfield allocations. Based in Newbury, Steven leads Carter Jonas' Planning Teams across the country. A keen sailor, cyclist and walker, Steven says that he is at his happiest when the wind in his face and there's no deadline!

Trevor is a Partner and Head of Planning across Carter Jonas' eastern region. Trevor has over 25 years' experience of planning and development, having previously held positions in local authorities, with developers and planning consultancies before taking on roles within larger property consultancies and has experience acting for landowning, private, public and corporate clients. He has worked on the award-winning Accordia scheme in Cambridge and also the redevelopment of Chelmsford City FC’s ground. At Carter Jonas, Trevor brings his experience to projects for clients with land and development interests across the East and East Midlands.

Michael advises landowners and developers on the acquisition and disposal of greenfield and brownfield development land for both immediate use and as part of a longer term strategic land bank. He project manages consultants and development teams to assist in securing delivery of strategic sites including landowner agreements and third party land ownership issues. Michael is married with three teenage children and his interests include whatever the children are up to as well as travel and most sports in particular rugby and swimming. Michael regularly participates in long distance open water swimming events.

David is one of two Planning Partners based in Harrogate and advises a wide range of clients across the north of England on matters relating to individual planning proposals and strategic promotion of land for development as part of the Local Development Framework process. He has specific expertise in rural and residential development projects, advising charitable trusts, private estates, developer as well as land owning clients in strategies to maximise development potential and land value. Amongst other sporting exploits David spends much of his spare time on the football field coaching young children in the art of 'the beautiful game' and is heavily involved in running a junior football team in the Teesside League.

James is Head of Residential Development at Carter Jonas. Based at Oxford, he advises clients throughout the south of England on a wide range of residential and mixed use development matters, including site identification, town planning issues, valuation and appraisal leading to sale, acquisition or development. He has been involved in many strategic development sites, ranging from new settlements to city centre regeneration opportunities, as well as smaller provincial and rural schemes. James also has specific expertise in options, promotion agreements, and joint ventures. British Bob-Skeleton Champion in 1989/90, James still enjoys winter sports albeit now at a slower pace. The summer sees him on the tennis court or by the river with rod in hand. When not acting as an unpaid taxi service for his three children, he can sometimes be found hiding in his vegetable garden.

Mike is an Associate Planner based in the Oxford office. He joined Carter Jonas in August 2008, bringing with him many years of experience of working for local authorities. Mike advises clients on planning matters ranging from the implementation of major developments to applications for smaller housing schemes. Specific skills include urban design, development control and project management. Outside work, he enjoys rural life living in the north Oxfordshire village of Hook Norton. With family ties in Switzerland he also likes mountain walking and skiing.

Paul is a Partner in the Minerals and Waste Management Division and provides specialist advice throughout the UK on all matters relating to minerals and waste management developments. In particular, he offers advice on strategic development appraisal, site acquisition and disposal, planning and valuation on behalf of both operators / manufacturers and private landowning clients. He sits on the CBI Minerals Group and both the British Ceramic Confederation Rating panel and land and property group, representing clients interests and assisting in lobbying on policy affecting the sector. In his spare time, Paul enjoys long distance and hill walking, and recently led a Carter Jonas team on a 40 mile trek across the North Yorkshire Moors for charity. To relax, he enjoys watching Lancashire County Cricket Club, where he is a member.
