Simon is a Partner, based in Newbury, who advises clients throughout southern England on a wide range of rural property, valuation and management issues. His expertise includes farm and estate management, the buying and selling of farms and estates, valuations for taxation, loan security, matrimonial and other purposes, on-farm auction sales, landlord and tenant issues, planning and development and diversification. He is an appointed agent and valuer to the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation and an accredited rural arbitrator on the RICS panel with extensive experience of dispute resolution acting for both landlords and tenants. He is also Chairman of the Newbury & District Agricultural Society which hosts the annual Royal County of Berkshire Show.
Richard is based in Newbury where he advises clients throughout the region on rural matters but specialising in farm agency/buying and family farming structures where he is a trusted external advisor known for giving honest advise based upon his experience in the rural sector. He acts as a Trustee in a number of circumstances and is appreciated for the depth of his wide ranging knowledge of the whole property sector which he can bring to the table for the benefit of his long established client base. Richard has a keen interest in all sports and will always accept invitations to attend be it at a local racecourse football or rugby stadium. With a sound knowledge of the Lambourn Valley it is perhaps not surprising that horseracing is a particular favourite.
Ed joined the firm in 2005 after working for a London based independent estate agency, giving him eight years experience overall. Ed has further property experience having developed and refurbished a number of properties and has moved no less than 11 times in 14 years! He is a keen sportsman and keeps fit playing tennis, golf and squash. Ed currently plays for the Wantage first team at squash in the Oxfordshire Division League 3.
Fiona runs the busy residential lettings and management department in Newbury, letting and managing a wide range of properties from one bedroom town centre apartments to large farmhouses in idyll locations. She ensures that she and her staff keep up to date with the ever changing legislation in the lettings market and has good legal knowledge having achieved one of the highest marks in the country in the ARLA2 examination. Fiona has been working in the lettings market for a number of years, in London, Maidenhead and now back in her home town of Newbury. Fiona enjoys keeping fit in her spare time and has a passion for swimming and cycling, the only missing link for triathlons is running!
John joined the firm in 2002 and is involved in a wide range of professional areas. He has particular expertise in valuations of farms and estates for lending and taxation purposes, agricultural landlord and tenant matters and advises landowners in relation to telecommunication sites. When the opportunity arises he is a keen auctioneer and is always prepared to conduct charity auctions. John was recently appointed as Honorary Secretary of the John Edgar Trust, a charity which runs a management development scheme for those in the farming and rural sector.
Nick is a Partner, based in Newbury, who advises private and corporate landowners on the value and disposal of residential and mixed use development sites across southern England. He has over 30 years experience in land development and new homes markets embracing all forms of transaction, including appraisal, joint ventures, option/conditional contracts and land owners agreements. Despite an all embracing involvement in this challenging property sector Nick finds time for his passion for family, his two Bristol cars and cooking.
Robin is an Associate Partner, heading the residential survey and valuation team in Newbury, Berkshire. He deals with a diverse range of general practice work including building surveys, home buyer surveys and formal valuations throughout Berkshire, south Oxfordshire and north Hampshire. In particular he focuses on secured lending valuations on development land and also provides valuations for inheritance tax, capital gains tax, matrimonial and other legal purposes. He acts as an independent expert for courts on valuation issues. Robin is keen on sailing and windsurfing, tennis and hill walking.
Tim is a Partner with extensive experience in the residential market including valuations, sales and lettings based in West Berkshire. He now works in an organisational role dealing firm wide with best practice and risk management, complaints and systems administration. He has lived and worked in the Newbury area for over 30 years and is involved with local volunteer groups. For relaxation he plays golf and cycles, and enjoys world travel.
