The Grassland Derogation

With an increasing number of farms being engulfed by Nitrate Vulnerable Zones and so subject to the onerous Nitrate Pollution Prevention Regulations 2008, there is a need to find ways to mitigate the strict obligations. One option for farmers is an application for The Grassland Derogation through the Whole Farm Approach Scheme. The derogation will allow farmers with at least 80 per cent grassland to increase their N max limit from 170kg N/ha to 250kg N/ha for grazing livestock.
