Property and Business Community Collide In Support For Carter Jonas’ Charity Pedalthon 2016
Cycling enthusiasts from across the property and business communities are being given the chance to test their personal best, on the Tour de France’s iconic 2014 route, including Yorkshire’s notorious climb up to Buttertubs Pass, from Wensleydale into Swaledale. Taking place on Friday 20 May, all money raised from Carter Jonas’ third Tour de France legacy Pedalthon will go directly to LandAid, the property industry charity helping to end youth homelessness in the UK. The Yorkshire Post will once again offer its support as media partner.
Co-sponsored by Theakston, the Yorkshire brewer, the event will start and end at its historic brewery in Masham. Riders have the choice of two new rides – an 80 mile challenge ride or a 40 mile social ride - through the glorious Yorkshire landscape. Riders signing-up from across the country will also enjoy a fantastic array of local produce as the event showcases many regional brands.
Organised by Iconic Cycling Events, last year’s Pedalthon attracted riders from more than 80 companies across the UK, an amount that Carter Jonas hopes to exceed this year.
David Boulton, Carter Jonas’ head of planning in the North said: “The Carter Jonas Pedalthon has become a firm fixture in the business community’s diary. It provides a fantastic opportunity to network, as well as cycle across some of the most scenic and challenging rides in the country, all whilst raising money for a great cause.”
Simon Theakston, executive director of T & R Theakston Limited, will once again be saddling up for the ride. He said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome the event to Masham and to host the start and finish of the Pedalthon at our brewery. Everyone will have put in a huge amount of effort and training for the event although I hope the thought of completing the challenge in the brewery will provide the additional motivation required. My personal training regime for the event is progressing satisfactorily!”
Entry is £75 per rider or £400 per team of 6.
