Multi-let property for a Cambridge college
Carter Jonas purchased a property for a Cambridge college, and devised a new, streamlined cleaning and maintenance contract system for re-tender to achieve significant cost savings and improved service.
The multi-let property which Carter Jonas purchased for a Cambridge college consisted of 11 retail units, three floors of offices, together with car parking. Several contractors had been used for cleaning and maintenance until the purchase. To ensure continuity of service, some were kept on a temporary basis while Carter Jonas devised a new contract framework.
The existing contracts were split up to ensure that there were no sub-contractors, as this gave us direct control of all contractors and achieved substantially reduced costs. The contracts were re-tendered to new and existing contractors, who were all on the Carter Jonas approved contractor list and therefore known for their abilities, qualifications and quality of service. The successful contractors were appointed, and it is anticipated that significant cost savings and improved levels of service will be achieved, along with better direct control of the contractors.
