Richard is a Partner, based in Oxford and head of the firm's Education Property Team.  Richard advises on all aspects of the school plan and its estate and property portfolio.  He specialises in valuations, landlord and tenant matters, rent reviews, strategic planning and support to bursars and governors estates’ committees.  Richard is a keen tennis player still making the odd tournament as business and family commitments allow.

Graham has over 40 years experience of providing property advice to both private landowners and institutional clients. He has a particular interest in asset management, planning and development and has experience of buying and selling farms and country property as well as conducting the full range of professional work, including compulsory purchase and planning.  Graham also has wide experience acting as Advocate and Expert Witness at Arbitration, County Court and High Court, Lands Tribunals and Public Inquiries. He is a Member of the Valuation Panel of the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation Plc and in 1991 was appointed to the Lord Chancellor's panel of Agricultural Arbitrators. He was appointed Partnership Chairman in 1991 which post he held until 2004.

Outside of work, Graham is a Trustee of Mikwano Children's Trust - Uganda, dedicated to providing financial and advisory support to the poor, needy and destitute children of Uganda and is a Governor of the Dragon School, Oxford.  His other interests include tennis and golf, theatre and music, food and fine wines.

James is Head of Residential Development at Carter Jonas.  Based at Oxford, he advises clients throughout the south of England on a wide range of residential and mixed use development matters, including site identification, town planning issues, valuation and appraisal leading to sale, acquisition or development. He has been involved in many strategic development sites, ranging from new settlements to city centre regeneration opportunities, as well as smaller provincial and rural schemes. James also has specific expertise in options, promotion agreements, and joint ventures. British Bob-Skeleton Champion in 1989/90, James still enjoys winter sports albeit now at a slower pace. The summer sees him on the tennis court or by the river with rod in hand. When not acting as an unpaid taxi service for his three children, he can sometimes be found hiding in his vegetable garden.

Colin is a Partner and a chartered architect, based in Oxford.  He provides a wide range of professional services, including design, project management and expert witness, with a particular emphasis on historic and period buildings.  He acts for private, commercial and institutional clients, including the education sector.  Colin has been privileged to work on several Grade I listed buildings of national importance, however he enjoys the variety of a wide range of project types, large and smaller.  He enjoys keeping fit and helps to run two local fitness training groups; unfortunately he also enjoys real ale!  Both interests are combined in the annual 'Lads & Dads' challenge, which involves a group of fathers and sons tackling a tough long distance walk, with frequent refreshment stops.

Scott specialises in providing advice on agency and development matters to a wide variety of clients from private individuals and trusts through to property funds, institutions, companies and statutory authorities.  He advises both owners and occupiers across the property sectors including office, industrial, retail and educational.  Scott lives in Oxfordshire, is married and has four children and most of his spare time (if any!) is spent ferrying them to various destinations across the county.  He is now a keen sports watcher rather than player.  He is a governor to two schools within the county.

Charles is a Partner, based in the Oxford and Mayfair offices.  He specialises in maximising returns for property investors, through the active management of portfolios and individual properties across the South of England and in London.  In his spare time, Charles enjoys keeping fit and is a keen skier.  He is also a governor of a local school.  Charles is a life member of National Trust and The Wine Society, and resolutely follows the fortunes of Preston North End.

Michael is an Associate in the Building Consultancy Team at the Oxford office but regularly can be found at our Worcester (Croome) office providing building surveying advice to clients.  He provides reinstatement cost assessment advice (insurance valuations) on all types of property to clients and colleagues at our offices in the midlands and north of England.  Michael's workload is varied but tends to be building condition /survey advice often in the form of planned maintenance reports on portfolios of historic property.  He has devised a bespoke spreadsheet system for report writing and this has been applied to several Oxford Colleges and a number of  independent schools throughout England and Wales.  Michael has a keen interest in classical music (playing the piano and cello) and has been singing with The City of Oxford Choir for just over 20 years.  The choir has about 40 member and sing works ranging from 16th century to modern day choral works.

Miles is an Associate based in the Oxford office. He acts for both private and public sector clients, advising on the most appropriate strategies for the acquisition and disposal of residential development opportunities.  Miles operates primarily in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire, and has a detailed knowledge of the new homes sales trends in these counties.   He also carries out ‘Red Book’ valuations for many of the major banks for development funding on a variety of residential development projects.  Outside work, Miles has been involved with his own property renovations to his listed house; enjoys country pursuits, long walks with his energetic Gordon Setter and visiting Italy whenever time allows.

Nick is an Associate, based in Oxford, with over 20 years professional experience in a wide range of commercial property matters.  He acts for a variety of private and commercial clients, providing valuation and marketing advice of all types of commercial property primarily within Oxfordshire.  Prior to joining Carter Jonas in 2007, Nick spent time at Oxfordshire County Council, WS Atkins and Vodafone where he undertook the acquisition and management of Radio Base stations, including rent reviews and lease renewals throughout the UK.  Outside work Nick is a keen golfer and member of North Oxford golf club and a qualified rugby coach forming part of the successful u13’s coaching team at Abingdon Rugby Club.

Richard is an Associate, based in our Oxford office, specialising in a range of building surveying services from commercial property advice including dilapidations, acquisition surveys and schedules of condition in addition to providing party wall expertise for commercial and domestic clients.  Richard especially enjoys providing advice on the repair and conservation of listed buildings and has guided many clients embarking on extensive repair and alterations schemes on buildings as diverse at 14th Century timber framed manor houses to 1960's tower buildings designed by iconic architects.  Away from work Richard enjoys spending time with his young family as well as playing cricket and mountain biking which helps to temper his passion for real ale and single malt whiskey and collecting (and drinking) wine which is probably brought on by following the trials and tribulations of his favourite football team, the mighty Derby County.

Robert is an Associate, based in the Oxford office.  He undertakes a wide range of work, including rent reviews, lease renewals, valuations, rating and day-to-day portfolio asset management of property throughout the UK, on behalf of private, corporate and charity clients and a number of leading banks.  He deals with retail, office, industrial/warehouse properties and the valuation of residential developments. He has particular expertise and experience in portfolio asset management for clients owning multi-property portfolios.  Robert is a keen squash player, enjoys cycling, running and always has a full order book of home DIY projects.  He also risks life and limb each November, as a member of a team running his village firework display, which is recognised as being one of the best in the area.

Sara is an Associate, based in Oxford, advising clients throughout Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire on new homes development site acquisition, values, mix of units, specification and marketing of new homes schemes.  She has specific expertise of working with all types and sizes of developer client companies.  Sara has two teenage children and spends most of her free time watching her son play rugby and daughter riding but if she had any spare time, it would be spent quietly or shopping for shoes.

Mike is an Associate Planner based in the Oxford office.  He joined Carter Jonas in August 2008, bringing with him many years of experience of working for local authorities. Mike advises clients on planning matters ranging from the implementation of major developments to applications for smaller housing schemes.  Specific skills include urban design, development control and project management. Outside work, he enjoys rural life living in the north Oxfordshire village of Hook Norton. With family ties in Switzerland he also likes mountain walking and skiing.
