Carter Jonas manages The Crown Estate's Marine Estate in the East, North East and North West of England.

The Marine Estate includes around half of the foreshore (land falling between the mean high tide and low water marks) and the beds of tidal rivers and estuaries and almost all of the sea bed up to the 12 nautical mile territorial sea limit around the United Kingdom.

The areas Carter Jonas manages are:

North West
Cumbria, Westmoreland, Lancashire and Cheshire coastlines, excluding the Duchy of Lancaster's Estate.

North East
Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire coastlines.

East
Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex coastlines. Also along the tidal area of the River Thames.
