Apprentice Surveyor
We are hiring an apprentice to join our Rural Division in the Shrewsbury office. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start their career in Rural Property with the ultimate aim of qualifying as a Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor.
We expect the successful candidate to work towards a funded RICS recognised degree qualification via part time learning from a rural University, such as Harper Adams in Shropshire.
This will be a varied and interesting role providing high quality training throughout and delivering key support to the wider team who carry out rural estate and property management, farming consultancy, valuation, sales and planning advice for a range of private and institutional clients.
MAIN TASKS
To assist with:
- Property valuations
- Farm and rural estate management
- Landlord and tenant matters
- Develop and manage relationships with clients
- Attending client meetings
- Preparation of client communications and reports
- Single Payment and Environmental Scheme Applications
- Site inspections and Records of Condition
- Negotiation and engagement with stakeholders
- All other rural property matters
WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL?
You should show evidence of being very well organised with a strong work ethic, attention to detail and excellent people skills. You will also demonstrate commitment and determination and be keen to learn. To study for the degree with Harper Adams you will need 3 A levels of Grade C or higher and GCSE English and Maths (grades 4-9); we are really looking for you to have ambition and genuine interest in the rural environment. The successful applicant will require a driving license and access to a car.
