We are excited to be recruiting a brand new position of Environment and Agri Business Advisor to assist with provision of farm business advice to management and private clients with regard to current and future subsidy support, countryside stewardship and natural capital.

MAIN TASKS:

  • Environmental Land Management Scheme - consideration of applicability to existing clients and growth of advice to new clients as scheme develops and three tiers are further introduced.
  • Basic Payment Scheme - collection of data, collation and submission of claims on behalf of retained clients
  • Sustainable Farming Incentive - collection of data, collation and submission of applications on behalf farm businesses, mentoring of the same where applicable.
  • Countryside Stewardship Scheme- assistance with advice and submission of applications for the final rounds of CS to 2023.  Assistance with annual claims and management of existing agreements through to final completion in 2028.
  • Woodland Grant Scheme - assistance with woodland management plans and submission of application for all forms of woodland management and creation.
  • Other Grant Funding. Assistance with consideration and application for all other forms of funding as and when available.
  • Farm Budgeting - assisting rural professionals with regard to farm budgeting for in hand management, other clients and general farm business advice.
  • Natural Capital - involvement with and advising upon Natural Capital calculators, evaluation and sales methods as market develops.
  • Site Survey - undertaking habitat and similar surveys in preparations for impact assessment and associated advice.
  • Carry out general tasks such as assisting with the preparation of meeting reports and assisting with research and gathering evidence to support reports for management clients.
  • Providing a high level of efficiency and customer service
  • Effectively liaise with other relevant professionals to maintain a sound working knowledge of all relevant areas of work

WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSUL?

We are seeking an Associate level Advisor with knowledge of Farm Business management and practical implementation. Knowledge of current Subsidy support schemes and application processes, plus current Countryside Stewardship, application and claim processes. You will have a strong understanding of proposals with regard to future support and willingness to develop knowledge and skills. Experience of ecology and habitat survey and ability to identify necessary species for survey works plus experience of implementation and impact of conservation measures and advising on management actions.  Experience of dealing with clients with strong communication skills are a must along with a full driving licence. Microsoft Office skills especially Word, Excel and Outlook are required with the ability to learn, operate and train within the office on specialist and Microsoft office IT systems and other Carter Jonas software.
