As a result of growth our London Architecture & Building Consultancy team are now seeking an experience Project Manager to support the development of a credible business stream within the network of our commercial teams. The proactive Project Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of key client projects across both the public and private sectors with the goal of delivering them all on time, within budget and within scope.

The role will involve working with existing and new internal and external clients to support the development of the new Project Management service line which sits alongside existing streams delivering architecture and building surveying services. In order to achieve this, the day to day activities of the successful candidate are likely to include:

  • Responsible for all phases of project management including procurement, design, construction, occupancy, quality control, staffing, and budget management 
  • Interface with clients to define project requirements. Establish project work plan and deadlines 
  • Track progress of projects against goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets, and generates reports on status 
  • Monitor project costs to ensure they fall within the prescribed budget 
  • Manage all facets of project design, construction, and occupancy 
  • Manage project team by providing direction and leadership 
  • Facilitate client meetings regarding project matters 
  • Work closely with other functional areas of the organization, project contractors, internal team members, external collaborators, customers and suppliers 
  • People management – line management of staff and maintaining excellent customer relationships. Mentoring, development, coaching, recruitment and appraising 
  • New work – lead with the production of fee proposals, bid documents, processes and information for other work or new projects
  • Networking – keep abreast of best practice within the industry by maintaining contact with peers in other market sectors 
  • Regular contact and sharing of information with Carter Jonas management team 
  • Business Development – Seeking and securing new opportunities in order to support the growth of the team 
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Be responsible for invoicing, debt collection and processing of fees


You will have at least 3 years experience within a Project Management role working with a range of public and private clients. You will have a degree (or equivalent) in a Built Environment subject as well as membership with MRICS, MAPM, CIOB or equivalent professional bodies. As a Project Manager, you will understand the important of individual client requirements and be able to demonstrate experience as Project Manager, Employers Agent and Contracts Administrator. In addition you will have proven track record of taking ownership in project delivery with strong knowledge of appointment documents, contracts, funding agreements and lease agreements.
