On behalf of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, Carter Jonas successfully sold Minley Manor, a substantial Grade II* listed manor and ancillary buildings set within a historic park and garden. The property was previously occupied by the Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME) as Officer’s Mess and associated accommodation in connection with nearby Gibraltar Barracks.
The Carter Jonas Planning Team liaised with English Heritage and the Local Planning Authority (Hart District Council) to inform the preparation of a Planning Statement. This Statement considered the main planning constraints and opportunities, and provided prospective purchasers with an initial steer on planning potential. The Carter Jonas Development Team managed the disposal process. The agreed Marketing Strategy was to offer the site into the open market on a two stage Formal Tender basis - seeking interest from a range of identified potential users. A bespoke website-based data room was established to provide prospective purchasers with easy access to all the available background information, reports, and plans. A drone was used to obtain high quality aerial imagery to ensure the marketing material fully captured the quality and grandeur of the sale property.
Significant interest in the property was generated and Minley Manor was successfully sold by Formal Tender in October 2014.
