Re-appointed in November 2016 as the National Property Advisor for Department for Work and Pensions, Carter Jonas provides the full complement of Professional Property services across the 1,000 property portfolio.

Members of the Property Consultancy and Strategy Team have worked with DWP in the preparation of Estates Strategies that led to the amalgamation of the Department for Social Security estate and Employment Service estate that together comprised over 2,500 buildings. This included many duplicated representations in towns and cities across GB, so a rationalisation and consolidation strategy was needed.

An estate prioritisation model was developed to identify those properties that could be released early and at minimal cost. The Department then used the savings from them to fund the harder to deliver vacations. In all, over £375m pa was saved through the implementation of this estate strategy.
