Carter Jonas identified new premises and negotiated favourable terms for The Medical Protection Society.
The Medical Protection Society (MPS), one of the UK’s leading medical defence organisations for healthcare professionals, had outgrown its existing office building in central Leeds and requested Carter Jonas to search for new premises.
MPS wanted the new offices to be large enough to accommodate future growth, to a Grade A specification and to be within walking distance of the main rail station. Carter Jonas investigated all possible options, including existing and new build properties and identified the offices of Yorkshire Forward, the former regional development Agency, which were shortly to become available. The premises located at 2 and 3 Victoria Place, Leeds, had 63,500 sqft of floor space along with 130 car parking spaces.
The building was originally marketed at £12.8m but was acquired after negotiations at a price which more accurately reflected the state of the market. MPS undertook a full refurbishment and fit out of the new offices and expect to complete the move by early 2013.
Carter Jonas also dealt with the disposal of MPS’ existing building at Granary Wharf House in central Leeds. A thorough analysis of all the options and early identification of the new building resulted in a timely solution at the right price for the client. The transaction represents the largest office deal in 2012.
