23 February 2015, South Oxfordshire District Council is currently consulting on its Local Plan 2031 Refined Options (stage two of the consultation process).

This consultation focuses on the Local Plan 2031 Refined Options and the Sustainability Appraisal.

The Council has already made provision for 11,400 homes through allocations within the Core Strategy and more recent planning permissions and commitments. Within the consultation documentation, it is suggested that the Council provides an additional 3,600 new homes between now and 2031 in line with the conclusions of the Oxfordshire Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA). Furthermore, the Council has asked the public to consider the proposal to accommodate a proportion of Oxford City Council’s unmet housing need within or adjoining settlements close to the City. A potential 3,000 new homes, in addition to the 3,600 to meet South Oxfordshire’s need, has been suggested.

Further information is available on the Council’s website.

The consultation runs until Thursday 2 April 2015. If you would like any advice on the Council’s proposals or assistance in preparing a representation to this consultation, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Oxford Planning Team.
