London, 15 May 2012, National property consultancy Carter Jonas is offering investors a rare opportunity to purchase land in Dumfries and Galloway which forms part of an operational wind farm.

The land at Cornharrow Hill near Moniave in south west Scotland comprises approximately 25.64 hectares (63.36 acres) and forms the western part of the Wether Hill wind farm, which will provide a potential investor with significant annual rental income.

The freehold interest of the land is subject to a lease for a 28 year term to a Scottish wind farm operator, which commenced in 2006.

The leased area includes 5 no. 1.3MW Siemens wind turbine generators totalling 6.5MW of installed capacity, ancillary equipment, inter array cables as well as an access track.

The overall wind farm, including those wind turbine generators which are situated on neighbouring property, has an installed capacity of 18.2 MW.

Andrew Watkin, head of the specialist Energy & Marine team at Carter Jonas comments, “This sale represents a unique opportunity in this difficult economic climate to acquire land in a high wind speed area, which is subject to a lease for an operational wind farm. The farm is operated by a blue chip covenant and produces significant rental income for the landowner’s benefit”.

Guide price is in excess of £725,000. For more details, contact Carter Jonas on 01733 588616, peterborough@carterjonas.co.uk
