West Hendred is situated midway between Wantage and Didcot on the A417 and is also situated on the northern stopes on the downs in the Vale of White Horse. West Hendred has a newly refurbished pub, church, and a village hall, and the adjacent village of East Hendred has many excellent facilities including two churches, three public houses and a village shop with Post Office. There is a C of E primary school, St Amand’s Catholic Primary School, and a pre-school. The village also has a community centre and sport’s club. Didcot, with its mainline rail station to Paddington (approx. 45 minute service) is about 5 miles away. The A34 is also nearby providing easy access to Oxford to the north, and Newbury and junction 13 of the M4 to the south. The nearby town of Abingdon provides excellent schooling including The Manor Prep School, Abingdon School and the school of St Helen and St Catherine.

DIRECTIONS
West Hendred is situated on the A417 road between Wantage and Didcot. If proceeding in a westerly direction on the A417, proceed through the village of East Hendred and on entering West Hendred turn left into The Greenway. Proceed for approximately a couple of hundred yards and Tanglewood can be found on the left hand side.
