Carter Jonas has secured outline planning consent on behalf of Endurance Estates Land Promotion Ltd for the development of up to 107 homes and a community/ café space on land west of Station Road in Longstanton in Cambridgeshire.

The proposals sit adjacent to the wider Phase 3B proposals within the new town at Northstowe which when complete will comprise 10,000 new homes and other services and facilities with excellent public transport links into Cambridge.

The scheme was designed by Carter Jonas’ Masterplanning team and planning consent achieved by Carter Jonas’ Cambridge office. It will deliver 40% affordable housing and will include an employment / community / café space together with extensive landscaping and associated infrastructure.

Peter McKeown, Partner at Carter Jonas in Cambridge commented, ‘Carter Jonas is very pleased to play a part in the creation of new homes at Longstanton, many of which will be affordable housing. There is a serious shortage of homes in the area, resulting in home ownership being unachievable for many.  This development will not only enable local people to access the property ladder, but will do so in a way that is sustainable and therefore socially and environmentally responsible.’

Jake Nugent
, Associate Director at Endurance Estates commented, ‘Endurance Estates is very pleased to have gained permission for much needed new market and affordable housing on this Allocated Site as part of the wider Northstowe new community. Working collaboratively with the Local Planning Authority, statutory consultees and stakeholders has led to a positive outcome, delivering the on District’s planned growth strategy.’

In achieving planning consent, Carter Jonas worked alongside other consultants including Transport Planning Associates, Stantec, Cass Allen and Applied Ecology.
