Carter Jonas’ energy experts are leading the way in adapting existing solar power techniques for more elegant domestic solutions as well as advising on commercial scale developments. The two principal methods of harnessing solar power are the long-established solar hot water heating, and photovoltaic panels which have been incentivised under the Feed in Tariff.
Carter Jonas is able to assist by giving building surveying advice for rooftop installation through to achieving planning consent for commercial scale solar farms. Similarly we have experience in acting on behalf of renewable energy developers and site owners for commercial scale solar parks and roofs. As a result we can advise on joint venture and lease terms, feasibility of sites, planning and land assembly issues.

Nick is an Energy Specialist based in the east of the country. He provides advice on renewable energy developments, with a particular emphasis on wind energy and solar schemes. His work includes conducting feasibility studies, undertaking site acquisitions, negotiating option and lease arrangements as well as undertaking financial analyses and valuations, acting for private, institutional and commercial clients within the energy sector. He also takes an active role in conducting CJ research projects, co-authoring the firms Energy Index. Away from work Nick is a keen skier and rugby player.

Thomas is based in Wells in the south west of England and advises clients throughout the area on rural estate management, valuation and general professional matters. He specialises in renewable energy projects including solar pv parks and rooftop schemes, biomass projects and wind energy projects both in terms of commercial farms and medium scale projects under the Feed-in Tariff.
In his spare time when work and his young family permits, he is a keen horseman and tends his vegetable garden in the early hours of the morning.

Claire’s work includes conducting site search and scoping reports, undertaking feasibility studies, site acquisitions and disposals including negotiating option and lease arrangements. Claire acts and advises private, institutional and commercial clients within the energy sector.

Colin is a Partner and a chartered architect, based in Oxford. He provides a wide range of professional services, including design, project management and expert witness, with a particular emphasis on historic and period buildings. He acts for private, commercial and institutional clients, including the education sector. Colin has been privileged to work on several Grade I listed buildings of national importance, however he enjoys the variety of a wide range of project types, large and smaller. He enjoys keeping fit and helps to run two local fitness training groups; unfortunately he also enjoys real ale! Both interests are combined in the annual 'Lads & Dads' challenge, which involves a group of fathers and sons tackling a tough long distance walk, with frequent refreshment stops.
