Training and Development  

As an employer, Carter Jonas encourages everyone to continue their learning and development, to optimize their performance and fulfil their potential, and we are proud to have achieved the Investors in People Gold Standard.

We provide all staff with relevant training and development opportunities through the course of their career with us. Much of this training is provided in-house and we cover a wide variety of topics, including management development, sales and lettings negotiation, customer care, presentation skills, time management and financial management. While they all count towards Continuous Professional Development (CPD) hours, we organise regular CPD seminars too.

As part of our commitment to the ongoing learning and development of all staff, we support our employees with any further education they choose to take up – whether that’s NVQs or MBAs.

To encourage our people to reach their full potential and to ensure their continuous improvement on performance, everyone has an annual Personal Performance Appraisal (PPA) with their line manager, with mid-year reviews and regular 1:1 meetings. The PPA includes a personal development plan to support both the firm's business objectives and the individual's career aspirations.

EDI & what we do

Our EDI strategy is further  supported by our very own EDI Network which is open to all members of the firm. Every year we aim to invite guest speakers or run activities internally to help with promoting awareness across the business.

We actively engage with Changing the Face of Property which draws together industry partners to drive forward diversity initiatives and change from the top.  To encourage diversity at entry level, we support apprenticeships and appreciate the benefit in ensuring people from all backgrounds can find a route into our industry.  We have a strong Carter Jonas School Ambassador network to raise the profile of a career in surveying to those with less advantageous socio / economic backgrounds, compared to the more traditional talent pipelines into property.
