York

Born in Yorkshire, Edward qualified as a chartered surveyor and arrived in York in 1982 after working as a property economist in Johannesburg. He became a Partner in Carter Jonas and helped to develop the York office into a market leader. An acknowledged expert on period property, he has written several books and appears regularly on radio and television. He also manages a number of large property portfolios for such clients as York Minster.

Edward is a Partner and head of York residential agency dealing with all types of residential property, including country homes, houses on the urban fringe, new developments and city centre apartments.  Edward is a keen skier, having met his current wife on the sunny slopes in Val d'Isere and enjoys several trips a year to various spots in Europe. He also manages a few rounds of golf when the weather and family permit and has recently taken up squash in an attempt to stem the mid life drift.

Charles is based in Yorkshire, advising private, institutional and corporate clients on a range of renewable energy schemes across the north of England. He provides specific advice on the feasibility of wind and anaerobic digestion projects, site acquisitions, negotiating option and lease, joint venture and access agreements, undertaking financial analyses and valuations.

Charles also manages a significant marine estate in the north east of England dealing with all manner of landlord and tenant related matters in relation to port developments, jetties, cables, pipelines, bridges and outfalls.

Outside of work, Charles is a keen cricketer who also enjoys golf and country pursuits.

Dan is a Senior Associate based in York, who specialises in general rural professional work for a variety of clients, carrying out professional valuations for all purposes, the sale of all types of rural property & land and dealing with compensation claims. He is also an agent for the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (AMC), providing advice on farm finance throughout Yorkshire and the North. Dan is a RICS registered Valuer. Dan enjoys virtually all sports, but especially squash, golf, an occasional run, and snowboarding. He also enjoys travel and country life.
