Housing Market Update | October 2026
This month’s Housing Update finds a residential market that remains subdued but is showing signs of increasing stability.
Overview
Although higher borrowing costs continue to weigh on buyer activity, there is evidence to suggest that the sector is gradually finding a better balance following the particularly weak conditions seen earlier in the year.
As a result, house price growth remains modest. However, regional variations persist, with London and the South in particular continuing to record weaker price performance.
