The land forms part of the Castle Combe Estate and has been farmed organically and registered as organic with the Soil Association since 1989. In recent years the land has been utilised for the grazing of livestock and mowing for forage. It has also historically been included within a Higher Level Stewardship agreement, although this has recently expired. The land is described as shallow lime-rich soils over chalk or limestone and classified as grade 3 agricultural land. The land benefits from access directly off the highway.
