Carter Jonas has enhanced its Industrial Team with one of Bristol’s most established surveyors, Darren Letherby, joining as a Partner based in the firm’s Bristol office.
Formerly at North & Letherby Chartered Surveyors and with a career spanning over 30 years, Darren has advised a wide range of private and public sector property owners on the valuation of property portfolios and provides lease consultancy advice to landlords and tenants alike. Darren joins Carter Jonas’ dedicated South West Industrial Team, including Alison Williams, George Lynch and Ed Cawse. Over the past 12 months, the team has driven several significant industrial transactions in the region, supporting occupiers, investors and developers in a sector transformed through the impacts of changing consumer habits, Covid and Brexit. The team forms part of the firm's national industrial offering with specialists working across the UK out of its commercial hub offices in Leeds, Birmingham, Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol and London.
Andrew Smith, Head of Industrial, Carter Jonas, said: “The industrial and logistics sector continues to perform strongly in the South West, and Darren brings a wealth of expertise enhancing the in-depth knowledge and great work of our team. Whilst Avonmouth is considered at the heart of the logistics industry in the region, demand has increased across the South West. The M4 corridor through Wiltshire and both the Bridgewater and Exeter Gateways are attracting huge volumes of interest. Carter Jonas is established as one of the largest firms operating in this market, and Darren's appointment strengthens our ability to advise and service clients whilst demonstrating our commitment to growing our market share.”
Darren Letherby, Partner, Carter Jonas Bristol said: “Carter Jonas’ business in the region has gone from strength to strength and I will support its ambitions for further growth in the South West and nationally. The Industrial Team has a proven track record in areas that complement those in which I operate. I’m excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to getting started.”
