Carter Jonas strengthens Business Services leadership to support Vision 2030 delivery

National property consultancy Carter Jonas has strengthened its Business Services leadership with a series of strategic appointments. Aligned with the firm’s five-year strategy, Vision 2030, the appointments reflect ongoing investment in the senior capability, expertise and business functions that support the partnership and enhance service delivery for clients.

Carter Jonas has appointed Mark Lawrence to the newly created role of Technology & Transformation Director, alongside Gordon McFarland who joins as People & Performance Director.

The appointments follow the recent rebrand of the firm’s Clients & Marketing team, formerly known as Marketing, Communications & Business Development (MCBD), which is jointly led by Hayley Clifton, Marketing Director, and Andy Clark, Clients Director. All four will report to Chief Executive Richard Bruce.

Together, the appointments reinforce Carter Jonas’ commitment to continue to evolve as a business. Demonstrating targeted investment in strategic areas of Business Services, the appointments strengthen the firm’s client delivery and ensure it is well positioned to deliver on its Vision 2030 goals.

Newly created Technology & Transformation Director role

Mark Lawrence has joined Carter Jonas as Technology & Transformation Director, a newly created role reflecting the firm’s increasing focus on technology, operational efficiency and client delivery under its Vision 2030 strategy.

Mark joins from Kennedys LLP, where he held several senior roles over a long tenure, including Head of Transformation Office and Head of Business Partnering. Bringing over 20 years’ experience built within professional services environments, he has a track record of delivering complex change and technical programmes with a particular focus on supporting high-performing teams. His experience of driving technological and operational change in a partnership environment will support the firm as it continues to evolve its functions and capabilities.

Strengthening People & Performance leadership

Gordon McFarland has been appointed People & Performance Director, leading the firm’s people function and supporting its continued investment in leadership, performance and capability.

Gordon brings over 25 years’ experience shaping people strategies across professional services environments. He has held a number of senior leadership roles, including Director, People & Culture at Deloitte, Senior Global HR Director at Boston Consulting Group, and Global HR Director at Freshfields. He brings extensive experience as a strategic advisor, driving complex change programmes, delivering the full lifecycle of HR services and leading high-performing teams. At Carter Jonas, he will design and deliver the firm’s people strategy with responsibility for the full employment experience, spanning talent development and employee relations.

Rebranded Clients & Marketing team

The new appointments follow recent leadership updates in Carter Jonas’ Clients & Marketing team, strengthening a connected approach to marketing, brand and client engagement as the firm progresses Vision 2030. Hayley Clifton has been promoted to Marketing Director, where she will co-lead the Clients & Marketing team. Since joining Carter Jonas in 2019, she has played an instrumental role in shaping and maturing the firm’s marketing and communications practice and supporting the growth of its multidisciplinary offer.

Co-leading Clients & Marketing is Andy Clark who recently joined the firm as Clients Director. A real estate & sales leader, he brings over 20 years of advisory and in-house experience, with extensive expertise in delivering strategic initiatives, developing client relationships, and driving revenue growth.
