Published on: 8 October 2026
National property consultancy Carter Jonas has appointed Shaun Davidson as Head of Client Insights & Research, as the firm continues to develop its market intelligence capability in support of its Vision 2030 strategy.
The appointment reflects the growing importance of data, analysis and commercial understanding in supporting clients across increasingly complex property markets. Shaun will lead Carter Jonas' Insights & Research function, working across the partnership to bring together market data, sector knowledge and the expertise of its professionals.
Shaun's appointment forms part of Carter Jonas' continued investment in the expertise and capabilities that underpin its client proposition and long-term growth strategy. The latest in a series of strategic Business Services appointments, it follows the recent appointments of Mark Lawrence as Technology & Transformation Director and Gordon McFarland as People & Performance Director alongside new leadership in the firm's Clients & Marketing team.
Shaun joins Carter Jonas from Devono, where he spent more than eight years as Head of Insights, leading the development of the firm's market intelligence and thought leadership. He brings over 20 years' experience researching real estate markets, advising clients and interpreting the forces shaping property demand.
Prior to Devono, Shaun led the Real Estate Insight division at Deloitte Real Estate, where, among other responsibilities, he produced the flagship London and Regional Office Crane Survey reports. Throughout his career, he has worked with clients including investors, developers, landlords, occupiers, national institutions and government bodies. His experience spans market fundamentals and future demand, commercial viability, business and sector trends, and the evolution of workplaces and technology.
His recent work has included providing analysis for the Old Oak Park Royal Development Corporation to asses the scale of commercial development around Old Oak Common, and market and location analysis for OpenAI as it identified its London headquarters.
In his new role, Shaun will work with teams across Carter Jonas to develop the firm's approach to client insight, bringing together market evidence and the specialist expertise from across the partnership. His remit will span a broad range of property markets and sectors, with a particular focus on understanding the forces shaping real estate demand, workplaces and the wider operating environment for clients.
Commenting on the appointment, Richard Bruce, Chief Executive, Carter Jonas, said:
"We are delighted to welcome Shaun to Carter Jonas. His experience in real estate research, market intelligence and client advisory brings an important perspective to the firm and will support the continued development of our Client Insights & Research capability.
"As we progress our Vision 2030 strategy, we want to make the most of the depth of knowledge and expertise within Carter Jonas, translating it into clear, relevant perspectives for our clients. Shaun's breadth of experience and understanding of the factors shaping property markets will be particularly valuable as we continue to develop our client proposition."
Shaun Dawson, Head of Client Insights & Research, Carter Jonas, said:
"I am delighted to have joined Carter Jonas and to be taking on this role at such an exciting time for the firm. The breadth and depth of expertise across the partnership provides a fantastic platform for developing a distinctive client insight proposition.
"Clients are operating in an increasingly complex market, with economic, technological, regulatory and social factors all influencing real estate decisions. Good analysis should do more than describe what is happening in the market. It should help clients understand why it matters, what is likely to happen next and what it means for them.
"I am looking forward to working with colleagues across Carter Jonas to bring together our data, market knowledge and specialist expertise to support our clients."
