Cambridge Science Park was established almost 50 years ago by Trinity College Cambridge. Today it covers an area of 150 acres including 1.7 million sq ft of high technology and laboratory buildings.

South Cambridgeshire District Council acquired Building 270 in early 2020 and Carter Jonas was commissioned to carry out redesign of the building.

The Measured Survey team produced topographical surveys of the area surrounding Building 270 and undertook laser scanning of the interior and exterior of the building to produce floor plans and elevation drawings.

A UAV survey was carried out to capture inaccessible detail on the roof of the building. This data was used to produce a roof inspection report and to generate a detailed model of the roof structure.

The pointcloud data was converted into a 3D model using Autodesk Revit software with the final survey deliverables used to enable conceptual modelling for presentation to the client.
