Oundle School is the third largest independent co-educational day and boarding school in England. Carter Jonas obtained detailed consent in April 2017 for the erection of a new sports centre (to include a 50m swimming pool, sports hall, and associated facilities, including the provision of 6 new netball courts).
The scheme incorporates a high-quality, bespoke architectural design and landscaping that fully takes account of the site’s constraints and surroundings to deliver a form of development that greatly enhances the visual appearance of the area.
Carter Jonas have worked in close consultation with officers and engaged widely with stakeholders, with the view to promote a scheme that the School is proud of. The School’s forward-looking strategy for sport and physical activity for the next 10-15 years takes account of the whole school's need plus opportunities for wider use of the school facilities by the local community. The new sports centre is central to the school's ambitious plans to develop its facilities. The sports complex will be high quality, fit-for-purpose, and will result in the comprehensive enhancement of the site.
