Carter Jonas has launched a new office in Manchester as part of its expansion strategy in the North West. This new space, located at Bloc on Spring Gardens in the city centre, is the firm’s first site in Manchester and its second in the region.

The office, which opened on 1 May, will initially accommodate up to eight professionals, with Harry Bolton leading the team as a Partner and Head of Planning and Development in Manchester. He will work alongside Matt Lee, the firm’s Head of Science and Technology, and with colleagues in Warrington and Leeds on current mandates while exploring opportunities to grow the business to support new private and public sector clients across the North West.

The office will contain specialists from its transactional and consultancy teams including, planning, development, national capital markets, industrial, science and technology, and infrastructures, reflecting the firm’s commitment to growing a multi-disciplinary property service in the region.

Harry joins Carter Jonas from CBRE and brings a wealth of expertise to the firm.  His extensive experience in the market, with additional roles at Deloitte Real Estate and Drivers Jonas, positions him well to spearhead Carter Jonas' expansion. Over a 15-year career in Manchester, he has advised on a range of notable development and regeneration projects across the North West for clients including Ask Real Estate, Barclays Plc., Countryside Properties, Corestate Capital, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Liverpool John Moore’s University, Manchester Airports Group, Muse Developments, Stockport MBC and the University of Liverpool. With a proven track record leading the CBRE planning and development offer in the North West, Harry will drive Carter Jonas’ business in Greater Manchester and the wider region.

Matt joined Carter Jonas in 2022 from Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, where he led inward investment, attracting global companies to the city to establish meaningful healthcare collaborations. Before this, he held roles at Bruntwood Group, leading its commercial business in Liverpool before being appointed Head of Commercial for the Manchester portfolio of Bruntwood SciTech. His unique understanding of the market and the priorities of both the private and public sectors continue to support Carter Jonas’ growth nationally and now in Manchester.

Richard Bruce, Chief Executive of Carter Jonas, said:
Carter Jonas' expansion into Manchester is an exciting development in our strategic growth, as we reinforce our presence in core markets and regions. Manchester, with its rich legacy of innovation and collaboration, continues to embrace new technologies and advancements, upholding its reputation as a world-leading city.

Having established strong foundations in the region, we are pleased to set up an office in the heart of Manchester. Harry and Matt have an exceptional network of contacts and comprehensive market knowledge. From our new space, we can fulfil current mandates whilst pursuing opportunities requiring on-the-ground support.

Harry Bolton added:
I’m really excited by the opportunity to grow Carter Jonas’ business in Manchester and bolster our proposition across the North West of England and North Wales.

Matt and I have been working to develop our approach, building on the firm’s success. We're looking forward to creating an ambitious, capable and collaborative team, bringing together individuals with a deep understanding of the area and its real estate requirements, committed to meeting client needs and contributing to the region's vibrant and dynamic environment."
