Carter Jonas are pleased to announce that they have secured a resolution for the grant of a hybrid application, on behalf of Osprey Homes, for a new residential development to the south of Hitchin.

Following the successful allocation of the site in the emerging North Herts Local Plan, a hybrid application seeking part outline planning permission and part full planning permission was submitted to North Herts Council to deliver up to 84 dwellings.

The detailed work carried out both prior to the submission, and during the course, of the application allowed the application to be supported by officers and receive the support of the Parish Council. Despite the emerging Local Plan not having been adopted at the time of the Planning Committee meeting, its members unanimously supported the case officer’s recommendation that permission is resolved to be granted subject to the completion of a Section 106 agreement and the case being referred to the Secretary of State due to its current Green Belt status.
