Carter Jonas were commissioned to review the condition of all of the school buildings, boarding accommodation and staff housing to get a “snap shot” view of the general condition of the built estate.
We were also required to identify what could be done to upgrade the buildings for compliance with current standards and advise on the priority for the repair, with a realistic budgetary cost for each job.
We were asked to assess longer-term capital investments and renewal works that were likely in the foreseeable future. We prepared a 7-year Cost Maintenance Plan including one cycle for external and internal redecoration and proposed a forward programme of re-roofing works.
We have subsequently updated the plan in 2005 and again in 2012 noting where progress has been made and what the new priorities are.
We now provide the same service to the Haberdashers’ Company at their Boys and Girls School at Aske, Monmouth School for Boys and the Adams’ Grammar School.
