Food Standard Agency needed to vacate its current London headquarters and relocate, considering various accommodation arrangements including a multi-site model. There were different size options and a range of target locations under consideration.
Through stakeholder consultation we agreed the range of locations to be modeled and then identified properties of the correct size and timing for detailed review. The organization was determined to reflect the wishes of its staff and current home locations as best it could, which explained the consideration of a multi-site model.
The Options Appraisal undertaken modeled qualitative criteria and quantitative criteria, with the latter being where staff preferences and travel times were awarded due influence. There were 8 main options with 20 sub-options in total, so the cost benefit analysis tool we have developed played a very significant part in helping to determine the preferred options.
