Carter Jonas were instructed by Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) to acquire Brunswick House, a 251 bedroom purpose built student accommodation property in Cambridge.
The property was arranged over four floors and comprised a mixture of en-suite flats and self-contained studio flats.
After the initial party failed to perform the vendor approached CCC as we were able to perform quickly and efficiently to tight timescales, exchanging contracts within 2 weeks and completing 4 days later. Carter Jonas negotiated on CCC behalf to secure the freehold interest of the property, which had the benefit of occupational income, for £38 million reflecting a net initial yield at completion of 4.78%.
