The Challenge
C.H. Robinson had three sites in Amsterdam which were no longer aligned with the business needs and future objectives. The business had been growing rapidly, including a substantial increase of human capital. One of the three sites was also accommodating their European Headquarters and the objective given to Carter Jonas was to provide better real estate but also reduce costs.

The Solution
Carter Jonas reviewed the existing lease data and undertook an extensive market search to identify existing and future options. This search also included “off-market” opportunities.

A number of alternative sub-markets and options were identified which were in line with the objectives. The result was (1) relocating the European HQ and (2) restructuring the lease and taking more space in one of the existing sites.

Our best-in-market local broker programme allowed us to select the best possible resources and the whole process was controlled and managed by the London Central Hub at Carter Jonas.

Key Benefits
The financial benefits for our client was about €1.5 million savings over the term of the 10 year lease, together with the flexibility of having a break option at year 5.
