Three career highlights:
Over a career spanning nearly 30 years involving all forms of property from a nuclear bunker through to the vast majority of the County’s main business schemes, it is difficult to choose just three highlights; the following are certainly are worthy of note:

Letting acquisition, for SkyCaddie, at Haddenham: 
I have chosen this as we were presented with a challenging brief by our client but I was able to use my market knowledge to unearth an off market opportunity that we subsequently acquired on very favourable terms.

Sale of Foxcombe Hall, Oxford: It is not often you get to market a University Campus and, as such, our disposal of the former Open University Campus at Boars Hill has been a highlight, working alongside our residential team on this high profile instruction.

Letting Instruction, Silverstone Park: I am currently leading this letting instruction on behalf of MEPC, where we have been responsible for over 200,000 sq ft of lettings in the past 12 months and I enjoy helping guide the park’s future development form, alongside the wider team.

Carter Jonas were instructed to market, by way of a sublease, surplus office accommodation occupied by our client Vencap. The vacant accommodation formed a self-contained open plan office, fitted out to Grade A Specification in the centre of Oxford and extending to approximately 9,708 sq ft.

The property is located centrally and within walking distance to Oxford train station providing direct links to London and to Birmingham. The 2nd floor of King Charles House presents a modern, open plan environment within the centre of Oxford and a rarely available opportunity to acquire space of this quality.

The principal challenge in marketing this property was the short term availability which was only 2 years, however it was in our client’s interest to sublet the space due to the outgoings incurred.

After an extensive and full marketing campaign, Carter Jonas were able to secure a sub tenant at a rent of £26.00 psf which was improved from the passing rent of £25.00 psf.

Carter Jonas provided leasehold and alienation advice to Vencap whilst meeting their objective and mitigating against further costs.
