The masterplanning team are appointed by Heyhill Land to develop proposals for a 60-home site west of Earls Colne, a medium-sized village within the Braintree District of Essex. Over a six-month period, the team have developed a comprehensive masterplan which is based upon a series of established site constraints.
The proposed masterplan takes advantage of a sloped site, with housing positioned to make the most of views across the Colne Valley and River Colne to the north, whilst seeking to reduce massing and protect views in the opposing direction. The project is currently going through a pre-application phase, with a subsequent planning application proposed shortly afterwards. The policy compliant scheme, which includes 30% affordable housing provision, will provide a sustainable housing development within touching distance of shops and facilities in the village, creating an enhanced gateway into the village from the west.
