29 February 2016, Oxford City Council is asking for sites to be suggested for future allocation in its new Local Plan which will run until 2036.

Once adopted, the new Local Plan will replace the saved policies of the Oxford Local Plan 2001-2016, the Oxford Core Strategy 2026, and the Sites and Housing Plan. It will allocate sites for development for a wide range of uses.

The City Council is inviting details of any sites within the City which are suitable for future new development and likely to become available by 2036.

Allocations for any type of land use will be considered and there is no minimum (or maximum) size of site at this stage. All sites and broad locations capable of delivering five or more dwellings, or economic development on sites of 0.25ha (or 500m2 of floor space) and above will be considered.

The call for sites runs until 21st March 2016 and is a real opportunity to suggest sites for development within the City to be considered through this Local Plan process.

Adoption of the new Local Plan is hoped to take place towards the end of 2019.
