17 July 2012, Carter Jonas has confirmed the sale of Devonshire House on Regent Street, Cambridge to St Andrew’s Tutorial College.

The 4,000 sq ft, detached city centre property has been sold to the College – which is based on Station Road and which has additional site on Free School Lane in the city which it is vacating – after change of use planning consent from B1 to D1 use class was obtained recently.

Devonshire House has accommodation across four floors which is arranged around a central stairway and is an HQ-level building in one of Cambridge’s prime commercial locations within walking distance of the city’s transport interchanges and main retail, restaurant, banking and professional services locations.

Refurbishment work is underway and St Andrew’s Tutorial College is scheduled to take occupation after the summer.

Commenting on the sale of Devonshire House, Steven Harvey of Carter Jonas said: “With an international reputation for education and commerce, this sale demonstrates the consistent appeal of Cambridge property to education providers.

“There remains strong demand in the city for properties which are suitable for D1 use and are in central, accessible locations.”
