Our Barnes office has set a new record in price achieved with the sale of a £14million turnkey property in Barnes’s SW13 post code – doubling the previous price record for the area.

The seven-bedroom, 14,000 sq ft Palladian-style property, which is located on the prestigious Queens Ride in a 0.33 acre plot in the heart of the Barnes Common Conservation area, was sold privately to a Middle Eastern family.

This £14million sale eclipses the previous price record, which saw a seven-bedroom property on Castelnau sold for £7,450,000 in July 2014.

As a turnkey property, Queen’s Ride has been purchased ‘as seen’, and comes complete with utterly bespoke furniture and joinery throughout. The seven-bedrooms, five reception rooms and nine bathrooms enjoy an unparalleled specification and are supported by a Savant home automation system.

Key features include a ballroom, swimming pool and spa complex, a carriage drive, underground parking with automatic gates and staff accommodation.

Tom Osborn, head of sales in Barnes for Carter Jonas, comments:
“Setting a new sales record in Barnes is reflective of a robust buoyancy in the local market as well as further room for growth in the core market around the £1 – 3million mark. Traditionally, buyers at this price point might have erred towards Knightsbridge or Mayfair, but Barnes is firmly cementing itself as a contender to the PCL crown, and we are excited to support further sales in this bracket ongoing.”
