Carter Jonas is celebrating the achievement of one of its partners, who has been appointed to an independent panel which advises on a technical area of rural property law and valuation.

Jeremy Zeid, who is based in the Cambridge office but works across the eastern region, has been selected as one of just fifty experts in England and Wales to become a member of the President’s panel of arbitrators whom the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) calls upon to resolve agricultural and rural property-related disputes.

Disputes referred to arbitration involve a range of property matters but can include agricultural rent reviews, notices to terminate or vacate tenancies and rural property valuations.

Jeremy Zeid’s knowledge of such rural matters is well known to clients of Carter Jonas and his appointment to this independent panel is an acknowledgement of his expertise in this field.

Reflecting on his appointment, he said:

"The selection process for the panel of arbitrators is rigorous and so I am delighted to join such an exclusive group of property professionals.

"I am sure that when I am asked by the President to arbitrate on my first dispute, I will play my part in reaching a resolution fairly and swiftly and to the satisfaction of all parties and the reputation of this specialist RICS panel."
