Carter Jonas has appointed Alec Thomas as a Partner and National Head of Geospatial, alongside Simon Tarr, who has joined as a Partner in the Bristol office to bolster the national Energy Team.

With over 20 years of experience in development, geomatics, and commercial real estate, Alec brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. Previously a Director at CBRE within the Building Consultancy team, he specialised in capturing, presenting and analysing accurate spatial data of the built environment. His expertise in 3D deliverables and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) will play a crucial role in enhancing the capabilities of Carter Jonas’ Mapping and Geospatial team while increasing awareness of the firm’s innovative technologies.

He will be based in Carter Jonas’ head office in London, working closely with Simon Nigh, Head of Digital Innovation. Together they will leverage advancements in property consultancy to enhance Carter Jonas’ geospatial services helping clients better understand and develop their real estate assets.

Simon, who joins Carter Jonas from Pegasus Group where he was Senior Director of Land & Property, will focus on supporting the national Energy team. With over 25 years in providing land and property services, Simon has a proven track record in the energy, telecoms, and commercial development sectors. His previous roles have included Head of Land at Engie, where he successfully managed renewable energy development projects across the UK and Ireland.

Working closely with the firm’s Head of Energy, Charles Hardcastle, he will support the implementation of innovative strategies that resonate with clients and stakeholders to enhance Carter Jonas' reputation as a trusted advisor in energy developments including site acquisition and management.
