22 July 2014, The Prime Minister conducted a wide-ranging reshuffle of the Conservative ministerial ranks on 15th July 2014.

The main change of relevance to the planning and development industry is Brandon Lewis MP taking on the role of Housing and Planning Minister – combing the two responsibilities for the first time since 2009.  Lewis takes over the housing portfolio from Kris Hopkins MP who stays in the DCLG team with a brief which includes local government, pubs and planning policy and casework in relation to wind and solar farms.
