What does a building surveying graduate scheme offer?

Our building surveying graduate scheme helps property grads become chartered building surveyors through the RICS building surveyors pathway. The team sit under the commercial division of Carter Jonas, and operate from our hub offices across the UK.

We invest in our graduates from day one, providing a structured training programme, an APC supervisor or counsellor, and regular assessments to ensure you achieve the full level of competency required for your APC.

What are the pathways into a building surveying graduate scheme?

This RICS graduate scheme is suitable for those who have a RICS accredited degree within building surveying.

We also offer a non-cognate route to our property graduate scheme for those who are willing to study towards a master’s - please see our apprenticeship page for further information. Please note, you can still apply for this opportunity through our graduate recruitment application process. The RICS competency framework ensures those applying for the RICS qualification are competent to practise, and meet the highest standards of professionalism required by RICS.

Why choose a career in building surveying?

Building surveying is one of the widest-reaching areas of surveying practice. Chartered building surveyors are involved in all aspects of property and construction, from supervising large mixed-use developments to planning domestic extensions.

This varied workload can include everything from the conservation and restoration of historic buildings, to planning contemporary new developments. Building surveyors work in most real estate markets, including residential, office, industrial, retail, leisure, education and health.
